GENEVA — The Centennial Broncos were runners-up at the Southern Nebraska Conference wrestling meet on Friday in Geneva.
The Broncos were 32 ½ points behind David City, while Tri County was third and Wilber-Clatonia and Thayer Central rounded out the top five.
In eighth place were the host Fillmore Central Panthers, scoring 76 points.
Leading the way for Centennial, which had six wrestlers finish in the top four, were Doyle Trout (106), Cody Pariset (113) and Josh Mooney (170), who all won their respective weight classes.
Bronco Luke Gruber was second at 195 pounds, while Luke Studnicka (220) placed third and Andrew Bader took fourth in the 152-pound weight class.
For Fillmore Central, Luke DeLong was champion at 160 pounds. Zach Ekeler (285) finished runner-up, while Davis Jacobson (106) and Trevor Adams (182) were third and Cole Curtis claimed fourth at 220.
The teams will now prepare for their district meet which begins Feb. 10.
The Broncos are hosting the C-3 Meet where the Panthers will also be in action.
