CORNING, Iowa — Corning advanced five wrestlers out of its Class 1-A home sectional wrestling meet, finishing third in the seven-team field with 151 points.
The Red Raiders had three sectional champions: Kallan Schmelzer (160 pounds), Kory Schmelzer (170) and Zach Barton (195). Justin Marn (132) and Jake Jones (220) moved on as runners-up.

Sectionals, WVC basketball delayed
Four wrestling sectionals involving western Iowa schools were postponed on Saturday due to the snowstorm.
The Class 1-A sectionals at Guthrie Center, Riverside and Tri-Center, along with the Class 2-A sectional at Harlan, all were postponed until Monday at 4 p.m.
In addition, the championship games of the Western Valley Conference basketball tournament also were postponed. They have been moved to Monday in Onawa. The girls game between OA-BCIG and IKM-Manning will start at 6 p.m., with the boys game between IKM-Manning and Lawton-Bronson to follow.
