May sashayed in with summerlike heat and humidity, but by Monday the Omaha area should see more seasonal weather.
Sunday will be a transition day as the weather makes a shift from the high-80s to temperatures in the high-60s this week.
Overnight storms may continue into late Sunday morning, and the high could climb past the mid-70s, said Accuweather.com, The World-Herald’s weather consultant.
By Monday, a cold front will have swept out the muggy, warm weather, said Alan Reppert, an Accuweather meteorologist.
“Winds will come from the west and north and help keep things cooler for much of the week,” he said.
The forecast is mostly sunny and dry for Monday through Thursday, with highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s.
By the end of the week, there should be another a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures in the Omaha area were higher than normal for the first week of May. Normal May highs are around 70, and the normal low is 40, the National Weather Service said.
