A 31-year-old Omaha man was taken to the Creighton University Medical Center in critical condition following a motorcycle accident early Sunday near 24th and N Streets.
A witness told police that Dennys Aguilar was southbound on 24th Street at a high rate of speed about 1:30 a.m. when his motorcycle struck a metal fence.
Sgt. Jason Menning of the Omaha Police Department said the fence was part of the marked barricades erected along 24th Street for Saturday’s Cinco de Mayo festivities.
Menning said Aguilar had a severe injury to his left leg. Aguilar, whose driver’s license is suspended, was riding a 2008 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle.
