A 3-month-old Fremont girl was taken to an Omaha hospital over the weekend in critical condition after her toddler brother reportedly sprayed her in the face with bleach.
The baby was taken to the Fremont Area Medical Center Saturday night before being flown to Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. A hospital spokeswoman said no information on the girl's condition is being released.
Deputy Chief Jeff Elliott of the Fremont Police Department that officers and emergency medical personnel were called to an apartment in the 1500 block of West Ninth Street shortly after 8 p.m.
Officers were told that the baby and her 2-year-old brother were left alone in the apartment while their mother went outside. A neighbor, who was asked to check on the children, reported seeing the boy spray bleach in his sister's face, police said.
The name's of the mother and children have not been released.
Elliott said detectives are investigating the incident and their reports will be forwarded to the Dodge County Attorney's Office.
