DUNLAP, Iowa — Host Boyer Valley shot 326 to win its Class 1-A boys golf sectional Friday, but Treynor (330) and Audubon (336) also will advance to district action.
Treynor senior Brad Bailey earned medal honors with a 74. Other district qualifiers are Boyer Valley’s Luke Elder (78), Audubon’s Andrew Irlmeier (79), Boyer Valley’s Michael Christiansen (80) and Woodbine’s Davis Hackman (80).
East Mills triumphs at Griswold
GRISWOLD, Iowa — East Mills won the 1-A sectional Friday with a score of 340. Runner-up Corning (347) also will advance.
Villisca’s Travis Herzberg won medal honors with a 78. Other district qualifiers are Sidney’s Ryan Bohlen (80), East Mills’ Kolton Wederquist (81) and Corning’s Reggie Perrin (83).
Nodaway Valley’s Speer advances
GREENFIELD, Iowa — Nodaway Valley junior Jake Speer advanced to district play by shooting a runner-up score of 78 Friday in a Class 1-A sectional here.
Champion Guthrie Center (320) and runner-up Woodward-Granger (326) moved on in the team competition. Woodward-Granger’s Chris McConnahay won medal honors with a 75.
Kuemper wins 2-A sectional
CARROLL, Iowa — Host Carroll Kuemper won the Class 2-A boys sectional meet with a 305. Clarion-Goldfield (331) and Eagle Grove (331) each advanced to district play with identical runner-up scores.
Cody Helmick of Eagle Grove (74) was the medalist, while Kuemper filled the next three individual qualifying spots with Brian Schreck (75), Tanner Ludwig (75) and Matt Gute (77).
Clarinda advances as 2-A champion
NEOLA, Iowa — Clarinda shot 318 and won the Class 2-A sectional at Quail Run Friday, and its top golfer, Kramer Samuelson, took home medal honors with a 73.
Shenandoah advanced as the runner-up with a 326.
Other district individual qualifiers were Dakin Wilcoxson of Clarinda (77), Cole Davis of Logan-Magnolia (79) and Drew Bayless of Shenandoah (79).
Harlan claims 3-A team title
ATLANTIC, Iowa — Harlan Community captured team honors in the Class 3-A sectional here with a 307, one shot better than runner-up Atlantic.
Third-place Carroll also advances to district play with a 313.
Carroll’s Brad Christensen won medal honors (70), and Creston’s Carson Whittington (71), Harlan’s Zach Osborn (73) and Carroll’s Sam Wilkie (74) also advanced.
