Broken glass littered the front entrance of Omaha's Jackson Tower after a fatal stabbing.
One man died and two others were injured in the fight Tuesday night outside the apartments at 27th Street and St. Mary's Avenue. One of the men involved was jailed on suspicion of murder.
Resident Glen Holtzclaw said Wednesday he was terrified by the fight that erupted.
Holtzclaw said he was outside the building when he witnessed the brawl involving several men.
“I was scared, terrified. I went outside for some air, and it happened in front of me,” he said. “I just stood back, tried to stay out of the way.”
Police said Dywan Williams, 37, of Omaha died shortly after he arrived at the hospital.
Antwon Williams, 31, of Omaha suffered serious injuries in the stabbing, police said, but he was expected to survive.
Both of those men were taken to Creighton University Medical Center by private vehicle.
The second injured man was still at the apartment tower when police showed up about 11:10 p.m.
Cory Bewley, 35, of Omaha was treated for his injury. Bewley was later arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree felony assault and two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony.
