The Better Business Bureau warned Tuesday about dealing with Rick Warner, a home improvement sales contractor who is the subject of a warrant charging him with felony theft by deception.
The bureau said Warner’s location isn’t known. The warning is for consumers in Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa.
According to the bureau: Warner was hired last August to arrange sales for a home improvement company. A consumer paid $1,000 him for a shed that wasn’t delivered. He also charged $10,000 for building materials to the company and acquired $20,000 more by using the company’s name. He was fired in November.
Warner was listed in 1998 as president of Classic Renovations, which went out of business in 2006.
