Duchesne's Foje to walk on for Jays

Omaha Duchesne's Amanda Foje will walk on to the Creighton volleyball team next fall, the school announced on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-6 Foje will come in as a defensive specialist, but she'll also work at the setter position. She averaged 9.0 assists for the Cardinals.

Both Foje and Ashley Jansen, a defensive specialist from Omaha Marian, will back up Michelle Sicner, who is taking over the setter role from Missouri Valley player of the year Megan Bober, a senior.

In other news Wednesday, sophomore Leah McNary was named to the 2012 Cobra Magazine All-National third team. She is the first player from the Missouri Valley named to the squad in the four-year history of the publication. McNary led Creighton with 376 kills and 3.03 kills per set last season.

Booth has been named as the CaptainU college coach of the year for Division I.

She led her team to a 29-4 mark, setting a school record for wins during a breakthrough campaign that saw the team claim its first MVC regular-season and tournament titles.
